I didn't actually plan to visit Nanjing, but here I am and things couldn't be better :)
I arrived on sunday after 18 hours on the train, this time I had a seat. I got to the Sunflower youth hostel where I met Andi and Marcus, who I've been hanging around with for the last few days. I also met Q Lee, a local girl who I contacted through couchsurfing, so practically I haven't been alone since I arrived :) It was raining the first couple of days so I haven't seen so much of the town yet but I still have time for that. Q Lee took me to the movies to see "State of play" and afterwards I had the best chinese food so far! Nanjing is a "small" town, with "only" about 8 million people :D It's different from Beijing and Xi'an in many ways and the people here are more chilled, nobody seems to be in a hurry.
But anyway..I Probably wouldn't have come to Nanjing if I hadn't knew that Martin and the other german guys would be here, so yesterday I chilled out with them. None of them knew that I was here so I set up a little surprise :) I fooled Martin to come and pick up a "letter" from the hostel reception, which actually was a note that said "Hahaa I really got you! Please come upstairs so that I can see the look on your face!" I'll never forget the moment and the look he on his face! I think both of us was lauhging for the next three hours, and he literally was speechless :)
Now I only have to worry about the visa extention and if I'm able to get it in Nanjing or not. Otherwise I have to start thinking about what to do and where to travel next. And I have to buy a new hard drive to empty my camera on because the one that Coloured Pig convinced me to buy in Xi'an doesn't work!
Sadly I don't have any other camera than my videocamera which takes really crappy pictures, so my journals will be a bit poor on photos.
