Delhi vol.3

On the 3rd, after our visit to this wonderful internet cafe, we went to India's biggest and oldest mosque (25000). It was quite big, but not that speciel. The special thing is the big praying/square, but it was tiny compared to the square in Beijing. And we had to walk around with bare feet in birdshit - I hope we avoid bird-flu :S. Two boys (12y) teased, because we couldn't speek hindi, they were cool. They also gave us some Indian sweets, that they really liked. Tasted like soap, though of course we didn't tell them that. After that we went back"home" to Channa Market, and to the hotel.

The next day we almost got up early (almost), and checked out of our hotel before 12. Then we took a rickshaw to the National Museum. It was great, especially exhibitions about the Indus-culture, their scultures of Hindu-gods, (thanks to mandatory Ancient Greece in high school) and the temporary exhibition with Faberge eggs etc. After the museum we walked up to the parlament and president palace. There were eagles, monkeys and parrots, that was really it. We couldn't get in or anything.

Back at our old hotel, we got our bags, and went to Hotel Perfect to meet up with our group. In the group we have 2 NZ, 8 AUS, our Indian guide and us. 2 guys, incl. the guide. It's been nice so far, and I think it was about time we really met up with some new people.

Today we've been exploring Old Delhi - this time with a guide. We went to the Jama Masjid again, more bird-flu... Our schedule for the next days are as follows:

6-8th: Jaisalmer, 9-10th: Jodhpur, 11-13th: Udaipur, 14-15th: Pushkar, 16-17th: Jaipur, 18th: Bharatpur, 19th: Agra, 20th: On a train, 21-23rd: Varanasi, 24th: Kolkata

That's it for now, take care

Mette
