beeping is very common, and somehow things work

6. Cars, pedestrians and motorbikes and cycles weave in and out of each others ways in any possible direction, Overtaking, Undertaking - If they could fly I am sure they would hop over others too.

7. Jaywalking essential, saw less than 10 traffic lights in Cairo all day.

I was petrified but by the end of the first day I was almost as goos a a local, sometimes taking shelter behind one or two people as they crossed.

8. If you run across the road, you are obviously a tourist. The locals take their time and cars have to steer past somehow.

9. People hop on and off slow moving buses.
